New Payment System Guidelines
With the new Kalamazoo College Payment Center, your student will need to add you as an authorized user.
Note: Proxy access previously set up for Hornet HQ will not transfer. New authorization will need to be completed by your student in the Payment Center.

What is an Authorized User?
An authorized user is a family member, guardian, or friend of a student that has been given access to the Kalamazoo College Payment Center by the student. Authorized users can view and make payments to a student’s account on the student’s behalf. They DO NOT have access to the student’s stored payment methods (credit card and/or checking account information), academic records, or other personal information. Please note that the student has the right to rescind access granted at any time.
From the Kalamazoo College Payment Center, authorized users can:
- View and print their student’s statement
- Check their student’s current account balance
- Enroll in an installment payment plan
- Make a payment with electronic checks (ACH) and credit/debit cards
- View estimated and awarded financial aid
- View 1098T statements
How Can I Receive Access to My Student’s Payment Center Account?
To protect student privacy, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires us to obtain student permission before sharing their educational records. In order for an authorized user to receive access to a student’s account the student must grant access first. Again, please note that the student has the right to rescind access granted at any time.
After the student grants access, login instructions and a new randomly generated password will be emailed to you. After logging in with your email address and this password, you will be prompted to update your profile and choose a new password.
Note: The temporary password is valid for 24 hours. If you do not log in and set a new password within 24 hours, you will need to request a new temporary password by clicking on Forgot Password on the login page.
